Adult Aikido classes are offered to men and women ages 15 and up.
Classes are held six days a week. Please attend as many as you would like.
Classes are open to all ranks and are not restricted unless otherwise noted.
Please feel free to stop by and visit any time and observe class.
The class structure is based on "kihon waza" or basic technique.
The application is then to be considered Basic, Intermediate, Advanced etc.
This is also inclusive of training with weapons.
It's origin is kihon waza but the application can be highly developed.
It is therefore highly encouraged for all students to attend any and all classes, from novice through advanced.
For the novice to learn basic structure and form and the advanced student to reinforce the foundations of kihon waza and apply a higher level of application.

Some frequently asked questions (FAQS)
Q: How do I get started in aikido training?
A: Come in and watch at least one class. Speak with the instructor and other students. If you wish to try aikido training, sign the appropiate papework and try it out for one week free.
Q: Is there a contract to sign?
A: No. Dues are paid on a monthly basis. All monies collected by the dojo stay in the dojo. There are no employees.
Q: Where do I get the uniforms?
A: There are several martial arts suppliers that we can recomend. It is not necessary to have a gi to start training. A tee shirt and sweat pants are fine.
Q: How often should I come to the Dojo?
A: Most people start with 2 to 3 days a week. Beginners are cautioned not to over-practice and get injured.
Q: Does it matter that if I don't have martial arts experience?
A: No. You will learn about budo, "the martial way" from the ground up.
Q: Do students get to compete and earn patches and trophies?
A: Your job as a student is to work on yourself. There are no competitions except within the heart. There are no badges to show off rank or skill. Aikido is the practice of the unification of Mind, Body and Spirit. This is the path of the peaceful warrior.
Q: Is there any difference between styles of aikido?
A: Well that depends of the style of person you are. You like a cetrain type of food, wear a certain style of clothing and shoes. It's more important to find out about the people doing what they're doing rather than the style of what the are doing.
Q: Does the instructor rank and resume matter all that much?
A: Yes and no. While the rank does matter to some extent because it shows the experience on paper of what the instructor's skill set should be. It's much more important to know where and how the instructor has trained and does the instructor just "teach". Many individuals are under ranked for one reason or another. However there are some individuals who have inflated their own rank and created a "system" and then created a whole organization around this. Beware of people showing the troply case or who have a lots of black belts in many different things. It's almost impossible. Caveat emptor!
Q: What's with all the bowing? Does this have a religous connotation?
A: No. Bowing is a sign of respect as in a handshake or a military salute. You understand the consequences of having a bad day on the battlefield if the victor does not bows to you.
